QUETTA: At least seven people were killed when flash floods washed away their vehicle in the Awaran district of Balochistan province on Friday night.
While confirming the incident, local administration told the media that eight family members were on their way to Awaran from Surab when the flood water swept away their vehicle. As a result, seven persons, including three children and three women, lost their lives on the spot.
Rescue operation in Awaran
Soon after the incident, local administration launched the rescue operation and recovered the dead bodies of seven people. “Efforts are underway to recover the body of one missing family member,” Deputy Commissioner Awaran’s office official said.
Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bizenjo ordered the district administration to speed up the rescue operation and be vigilant during the rains and flash floods.
