Seven Killed in Road Accident in Northwestern Pakistan

PESHAWAR: Seven people have been killed and six others injured in a tragic road accident in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday, local authorities said.

The incident occurred in Chaghurzai Tehsil of Buner district when a passenger van plunged into a deep ravine. Police reported that the driver lost control on the dilapidated road in the mountainous area, leading to the crash.

Rescue 1122 volunteers quickly responded, shifted the dead bodies and injured people to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for treatment. The dead bodies were handed over to relatives after necessary legal-medico procedures.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed his condolences over the incident, mourning the loss of seven lives.

He extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and offered prayers for the deceased, wishing them forgiveness and elevated ranks in the hereafter.

In his message, Governor wished for a swift recovery for the injured, hoping for their complete healing.

Road accidents are a common occurrence in Pakistan, often attributed to poorly maintained roads, violations of safety rules, and reckless driving.
