ISLAMABAD: Dence fog engulfed various regions of Pakistan, leading to the temporary closure of significant motorways and causing disruptions to traffic.

The Peshawar Motorway M1, stretching from Peshawar to Islamabad, and the Swat Expressway from Colonel Sher Khan to Ismailia are currently closed as a precautionary measure to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of motorway users, according to the spokesperson for the Motorway Police.

Citizens are urged to refrain from unnecessary travel during foggy conditions, with the spokesperson advising them to complete their journeys in daylight and reach their destinations before the onset of fog.

To enhance safety, the Motorway Police recommends using fog lights in vehicles and emphasises the importance of avoiding speeding while maintaining a proper distance from the vehicle ahead.

Information about road conditions can be obtained by calling the Motorway Police helpline at 130 before embarking on a journey, as stated by the spokesperson. Additionally, the latest updates can be accessed through the official social media account of the National Highways and Motorway Police.
