ISLAMABAD: Islamabad United Skipper Shadab Khan has singled out Quetta Gladiators as the team to watch out for in the next 9th edition of the Pakistan Super League. In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan leading up to the tournament’s kick-off on February 17th, Shadab has offered his perspectives on the competition and potential contenders.
Shadab believed Quetta Gladiators stand out as the strongest on paper but all teams appear promising on paper, personally, he finds their squad to be more well-rounded. However, the actual performance of each team in the tournament remains to be seen, but on paper, Quetta Gladiators appear formidable, he remarked.
It’s notable that Quetta Gladiators have witnessed a change in leadership, with Rilee Rossouw from South Africa taking over as the new captain for the upcoming PSL season 9. Alongside Rossouw, Saud Shakeel has been appointed as the vice-captain, signaling a fresh era of leadership for the franchise. Sarfaraz Ahmed, renowned for his remarkable track record in the PSL, having clinched victory in 38 out of 80 matches and securing the title in 2019, now hands over the reins to Rossouw.
