ISLAMABAD: Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Afridi, a crucial part of the formidable pace trio alongside Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali, sent a strong message to Indian fans ahead of the highly anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 fixture between arch-rivals Pakistan and India at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

Indian fans enthusiastically approached the left-arm pacer for selfies as he made his way out of the stadium after completing his bowling and fielding practice drills. In response, Afridi confidently stated, “Zaroor selfie loonga, lekin paanch wicket lene ke baad (I will definitely take one, but only after I’ve claimed five wickets).”

Afridi’s bold declaration comes amidst criticism regarding his performance in the ongoing tournament. With just two wickets and conceding 103 runs in two matches, Afridi has faced scrutiny. Despite this, Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, expressed confidence in Afridi’s abilities during the pre-match press conference, stating, “He is our main bowler. Shaheen Afridi himself believes he is a big match bowler.”

The anticipation for the Pakistan-India clash is reaching a fever pitch, and fans from both sides are eagerly awaiting the battle between the fierce pacers and the strong Indian batting lineup.
