ISLAMABAD: Cricket legend Shahid Afridi, affectionately known as Boom Boom Afridi, took to social media on Saturday to share a heartwarming note and beautiful pictures from his eldest daughter Aqsa Afridi’s wedding to Naseer Nasir.
Although Aqsa got married to Nasir late last year, the rukhsati (the event when the bride leaves her home to move to her husband’s house) was planned for a later date. The rukhsati took place on Friday night. Afridi shared a series of delightful photographs from the wedding and penned a heartfelt note for his daughter.

“Meri pyari beti (My dear daughter) – it seems like yesterday when I cradled you in my arms – and on that day, I promised myself I would never leave your side. Although you’re about to begin a new chapter in your life, you’ll always have my heart because I’m the man who loved you first. May Allah keep you both under His Divine protection and give you the chance to create a beautiful life together. Ameen,” Afridi expressed his emotions.
Wedding Ceremony of Shahid Afridi’s Daughter
The wedding ceremony was attended by members of the Pakistan cricket team, including skipper Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Muhammad Rizwan, Imamul Haq, Hassan Ali, and Shan Masood. Former cricketers Moin Khan, Arshad Khan, Muhammad Akram, and Waqar Younis also graced the event with their presence. It is worth noting that Afridi’s younger daughter, Ansha Afridi, is also married to a Pakistani pacer, Shaheen Afridi.
The rukhsati ceremony for Ansha is expected to take place by the end of this year.
