Makkah: Official Spokesman for the Ministry of Health Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdulaali has said that this year’s Hajj season faces a major challenge represented by rise in temperatures, which poses a threat to the health of pilgrims, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.
The spokesman advised pilgrims to follow the ministry’s health guidelines, including carrying umbrellas to avoid direct exposure to sun, drinking sufficient amounts of water, and taking rest periods between rituals to decrease fatigue and heat stress.
He emphasized the need for pilgrims to commit to these measures to ensure their safety and protect their health during the performance of Hajj rituals, stressing that the ministry of health is making all efforts to provide a healthy and safe environment for pilgrims in light of the harsh climatic conditions.
According to the SPA, the National Center for Meteorology announced the weather conditions in the holy sites for this year’s Hajj season, varying from hot to very hot, with degrees ranging between 45 and 48 and little rain potential, which urges after health guidelines strictly.
