Shehbaz, Omar Ayub Submit Nomination Papers for PM Slot

ISLAMABAD: PML-N Shehbaz Sharif and SIC Omar Ayub submitted on Saturday their nomination papers for the office of Prime Minister of Pakistan at the office of Secretary General of the National Assembly, a statement said on Saturday.
MNA Main Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif’s nomination papers was presented by MNAs Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Tariq Bashir Cheema, Rana Tanvir Hussain, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf Zaman, Attaullah Tarrar, Abdul Aleem Khan and seconded by MNAs Romina Khursheed Alam, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Laghari, Ahsan Iqbal, Kessoo Mal Kheel Das, Anusha Rahman Khan, M. Hanif Abbasi, and Jamal Shah Kakar.
On the other hand, Omar Ayub Khan’s nomination papers for Prime Minister of Pakistan was proposed by MNAs Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Asad Qaiser, Riaz Khan Fatyana, Umair Khan Niazi and seconded by MNAs Mohammad Sanaullah Khan Mastikhel, Ali Khan Jadoon, Mujahid Ali, and Malik Mohammad Amir Dogar.
The contest for the Prime Minister’s (PM) slot is heating up, with former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Omar Ayub Khan from Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) competing for the position.
This Sunday, newly elected lawmakers of the South Asian country will participate in the voting, aiming to win the top executive post in the country. In this electoral contest, a candidate must amass a minimum of 169 votes out of the 336-member of the national assembly to clinch victory.
