ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has lauded England Test cricket team skipper Ben Stokes for donating his fees of the entire test series for the flood-hit people in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister issued a statement via his social media account and said, “We appreciate the kind gesture of England Captain Ben Stokes donating his fees of entire Test series for flood victims of Pakistan.” Shehbaz Sharif further wrote, “Empathy for suffering humanity is the greatest of all virtues. His gesture epitomizes the great British tradition of philanthropy”.
Cricket in Pakistan: Pakistan Vs England Cricket Series
It may be recalled that the England cricket team is currently in Pakistan to play test series against Pakistan. The test series is scheduled to take place on December 1. The 1st test match will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Karachi and Multan will also host 2nd and third test matches.
Cricket fans are very happy and excited to watch test cricket between Pakistan and England in the country.
Fans warmly welcome English cricket team
Ali Shah, a cricket fan in Islamabad said that they warmly welcomed English cricket team and happy to see once again classical test cricket in Pakistan. He lauded the kind gesture of Ben Stokes for donating his match fee to assist the flood-hit people in Pakistan.
He said that they love cricket, especially test and hope that the green shirt and English team will play quality cricket during the test series. He said that rest of the test cricket teams should also follow English cricket team and visit Pakistan to play cricket.
Jawad Khan, another cricket lover in Peshawar expressed happiness over the visit of the English Team and lauded English team captain for showing generosity to support the flood-affected people in Pakistan. He hoped that Peshawar will also soon host international cricket.
He added that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also love cricket and sports and wish to see international cricket in the city. He said that Pakistan is a cricket-loving country and the international teams should often visit Pakistan to entertain the people of the country with quality cricket. He said that he likes T20 cricket but termed test cricket as a real game.
