ISLAMABAD: Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif, at just 22 years old, has made history by becoming the youngest Pakistani to scale all 14 peaks that exceed 8,000 meters. His latest achievement was summiting Shishapangma, an 8,027-meter peak in China, completing a remarkable journey that began in 2019, local media reported.

Nicknamed the “Broad Boy” after his initial success at scaling Broad Peak at 17, Kashif has steadily conquered iconic peaks such as Mount Everest, K2, and Manaslu in 2021. His mountaineering feats in 2022 included scaling Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum I and II, Annapurna, and Cho Oyu, further establishing his reputation. Despite facing an accident that delayed his Shishapangma summit in 2022, Kashif has now accomplished this formidable goal.

Kashif credited his success to overcoming fears and doubts, describing his achievement as “nothing short of a miracle.” His journey was supported by the BARD Foundation, whose founder, Abdul Razak Dawood, expressed immense pride in Kashif’s accomplishments, recognizing him as a symbol of national pride.

This achievement places Kashif alongside Sarbaz Khan as one of the only two Pakistanis to have conquered all 14 of the world’s highest peaks, cementing his legacy in international mountaineering.
