SHO Martyred in Bomb Blast in Balochistan’s Khuzdar District

QUETTA: Counter Terrorism Department’s (CTD) Station House Officer (SHO) Murad Jamot was martyred, and two others were wounded in a bomb blast in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district on Sunday.

Police said a magnetic bomb exploded on the SHO’s car when he was going to his office near Sultan Ibrahim Road in the Khuzdar area.

According to Police, the blast was a result of a magnetic bomb, and further investigation was underway. The injured and martyred were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Khuzdar.

Balochistan Caretaker Chief Minister Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki has directed investigations into the blast and asked the relevant authorities to submit the report of the incident. He strongly condemned the explosion and expressed sorrow over the martyrdom of the police officer.

He said that the attack on the security forces stationed for the protection of people is highly condemnable. Ali Mardan ordered that involved elements should be apprehended and brought to justice.

He paid tribute to the martyred police officer Murad Jamot, while expressing his sympathy to the bereaved family of the martyr and prayed for their patience.

PM Condemns Khuzdar Blast

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar also strongly condemned the blast in Khuzdar and expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Counter-Terrorism Department SHO Muhammad Murad.

PM Kakar expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the high ranks of the departed soul, the Prime Minister Office Media Wing said in a press release.

He also directed the concerned authorities to provide all possible medical treatment to those wounded in the incident.

The caretaker prime minister said that such cowardly activities could not deter the high morale of the security forces.

The whole nation paid tribute to those who had been sacrificing their precious lives in the fight against terrorism, he added.
