ISLAMABAD: The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), mandated to attract foreign investment and introduce uniform economic policies, plays a pivotal role in advancing the IT and telecom sectors within the country, reported state-run Radio Pakistan on Monday.

Based on SIFC’s recommendations, the government has directed the Ministry of IT and Telecom and PEPRA to expedite and enhance the digitization of procurement and other governmental functions.

Government agencies will utilize the Cloud Services Procurement Framework for all procurement processes. Concurrently, efforts are underway to finalize the auctioning of the 5G spectrum this month, with the Law Division instructed to actively resolve pending cases in Islamabad and Sindh High Courts related to 5G.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Affairs has allocated Rs. 235 million for the Pakistan Startup Fund and Rs. 229 million for the E-Rozgar program.
