ISLAMABAD: The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is giving special attention to the transparent privatization of government entities and departments as per global standards.
According to state media reports on Monday, in the first phase, DISCOs, First Women Bank, PIA, and others are being privatized with SIFC support.
Apart from the financial deficit, the total liabilities of Pakistan International Airlines have increased from 200 billion rupees to 830 billion rupees.
According to the data released by the government, the DISCOs have caused a loss of over 376 billion rupees. The government can take more steps for public welfare by reducing this deficit from the national exchequer through transparent privatization.
