GILGIT-BALTISTAN: SIFC’s Green Tourism project is transforming the tourism sector in Gilgit-Baltistan. Recently, the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan and the Green Tourism Company signed an agreement to promote tourism in the region.
As part of this agreement, 44 dilapidated government guest houses in Gilgit-Baltistan will be renovated in a modern style. These guest houses had long been a financial burden on the government without providing benefits to the public. Their development will not only boost the local tourism sector but also create employment opportunities.
The SIFC was established to attract investments from friendly countries into key sectors through an empowered organization acting as a ‘single-window’ platform for facilitation. It aims to improve the ease of doing business for potential investors using a ‘Whole of Government Approach,’ achieving optimal synergy and facilitation with support from the Pakistan Army.
