Canada’s Foreign Minister Melanie Joly also confirmed the news and said that 41 diplomats have left India for Canada. The recent move comes following Canadian disclosure that New Delhi may have been involved in the murder of a Sikh leader in Canada.

Earlier, Justin Trudeau had said that they have credible reasons to believe that India’s agents were involved in the assassination of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada.  He also called on New Delhi to collaborate with Canada to ensure a transparent probe into the murder of Nijjar on Canadian soil.

He said “We are a nation of the rule of law. We are going to do the work essential to keep our citizens safe and to uphold our values and the global rules-based order.
