KARACHI: The School Education and Literacy Department (SELD) of Sindh has declared that the students of class I to class III will be promoted without taking examination.

In contrast, examinations for classes IV through VIII will be held after Eidul Fitr, according to a circular released on Thursday by Rafia Javed, Additional Director of the Directorate of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions.
The circular stated that the next academic year would begin on August 1. It said that breaking the steering committee’s rules would have serious consequences.
The decision has been taken on the recommendations of the steering committee. The steering committee has also agreed that the exams for classes IX and X would start from May 8 and the HSSC (XI and XII) exams would begin from May 22.
The SSC Part II results will be announced on July 15, while the SSC Part I (IX) result will be announced in September. Results for HSSC Part II (XII) will be made public by August 15, and the HSSC Part I (XI) result will be announced 60 days later.
