KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party leader and Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has demanded the resignation of Governor Kamran Tessori following disrespectful remarks from his party regarding Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, whom Memon hailed as a national hero.

Memon made these statements alongside Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah during a press conference in Karachi on Monday.

Earlier in the day, MQM-P leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui emphasized equal rights for all ethnic groups in Pakistan.

Discussing provincial issues, Siddiqui referenced historical events, suggesting that past events such as the Fall of Dhaka in 1971 and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s assumption of power confirmed conspiracy theories about Pakistan’s integrity.

Reacting strongly to MQM-P’s statements, Memon criticized the party’s remarks against the martyred leadership of the PPP, stating that baseless allegations would not be tolerated. He demanded an apology from MQM-P and accused them of promoting divisive politics in Sindh.

Challenging MQM-P to prove their popularity through elections, Memon asserted that PPP was undeterred by their rival’s tactics and remained steadfast in their stance.
