Sindhi Fish Curry Recipe

ISLAMABAD: This Sindhi fish curry is a beloved dish known for its simplicity and delicious taste, featuring a unique blend of garlic, tomatoes, and spices.

Ingredients:

  • 6-7 pieces of king fish
  • 3-4 green chilies, chopped
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 3 tsp oil
  • Water, as needed
  • 1 cup fresh coriander leaves
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Clean the fish thoroughly and season with salt, red chilli powder, turmeric, and oil. Rub the spices in well to coat the fish evenly. Allow it to marinate for an hour.
  2. While the fish is marinating, blend the coriander leaves, green chilies, and garlic cloves into a smooth paste using a mixer grinder.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the marinated fish pieces, turning them until they are cooked evenly on both sides.
  4. In a separate pan, heat oil and add the prepared coriander paste along with some water. Cook for three minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add coriander powder, red chili powder, salt, and tomato puree to the pan. Adjust the consistency with more water if needed and cook until the gravy starts to boil.
  6. Place the fried fish pieces in a serving bowl and pour the gravy over them. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot. Enjoy your Sindhi fish curry.
