NEW YORK: World number one Jannik Sinner has reached his first US Open semi-final with a four-set win over 2021 champion and two-time runner-up Daniil Medvedev.
Sinner, looking to capture his second major of the season following the Australian Open, won and will take on Jack Draper for a place in the final. Jannik Sinner is the only player to make the semi-finals with Taylor Fritz due to face Frances Tiafoe, ranked 20, in Friday’s other last-four contest. Jannik Sinner had defeated Medvedev from two sets down to claim the Australian Open title before he gained revenge in another five-setter at Wimbledon. In a statement, Sinner said that it was very tough and now he was looking forward to face Draper.
