ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Siraj-ul-Haq on Monday resigned from his post as the political party head following his party failed to make an impact in the general elections 2024.
“Accepting responsibility for the defeat in the election, I resign from the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami,” Siraj said in a post on X from his official handle.

Earlier, Jahangir Khan Tareen, head of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), has announced his resignation from both the chairmanship of the party and from active involvement in politics.
Taking to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Tareen expressed gratitude to his supporters and extended congratulations to his opponents on their electoral success. He stated, “I have immense respect for the will of the people of Pakistan. Therefore, I have decided to resign from my position as Chairman IPP and step away from politics altogether.”
