Six Coal Miners Killed in Southwest Pakistan

QUETTA:  Local officials said that at least six miners died as a coalmine in Pakistan’s Southwestern Balochistan province caved in on Thursday afternoon. Officials confirmed on Friday that the dead bodies of six miners were recovered from the mine after a rescue operation.

Six Coal Miners Killed in Balochistan

According to local media reports in a 27-hour rescue operation, the dead bodies of six laborers were pulled out, and five wounded were rescued from the mine. The sad incident took place in Tehsil Shahragh of the Harnai district, officials added.

As per the details, one dead body was recovered and five wounded were saved on Thursday, while the remaining 5 dead bodies were pulled out on Friday. The injured were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bizenjo expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad incident in the province. He expressed his condolences and sympathies with the families of the deceased.
