MUMBAI: Indian social media influencer Aanvi Kamdar, age 27, died after falling into a gorge while shooting an Instagram video at Maharashtra’s Kumbhe waterfall.

Kamdar, a chartered accountant and popular travel blogger (@theglocaljournal), was at Maharashtra’s Kumbhe waterfall with her several friends, according to local media reports.

Kamdar slipped and fell 300 feet into the gorge during a video shooting, according to a local police official. Her friends quickly called for help, and a rescue team from the Coast Guard, kolad, and Maharashtra State Electricity Board staff rushed to the site, the report said.

A rescuer described the difficult conditions and said, “We found the victim had fallen nearly 300-350 feet. The heavy rain and her injuries made it hard to rescue her, so we had to use a special pully system.”

The rescue operation was difficult and took six hours. Unfortunately, Kamdar’s injuries were too severe, and she died at the local hospital, confirmed by police officials.

After the incident, authorities warned tourists to be extra careful when visiting waterfalls during the monsoon season.
