KARACHI: The social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, has been reinstated for users across Pakistan, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) informed the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday.
PTA’s lawyer, Ahsan Imam, informed the court of the authority ’s stance on the X ban in Pakistan. He told the court that the authority has rescinded its notification suspending X services in Pakistan. This response came after the SHC requested the PTA’s position on the ban.
The high court has adjourned the case for two weeks following the PTA’s submission.
The suspension of X was initially imposed in February, following the general elections of 2024.
Earlier, on April 17, the Sindh High Court had directed the Ministry of Interior to revoke its suspension order within one week.
