RAWALPINDI: A soldier valiantly embraced martyrdom, and one terrorist was eliminated during a fierce exchange of fire between Pakistan security forces and terrorists in the Tirah area of Khyber district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.
The incident took place during the night of August 31 and September 1, 2023, in the general area of Tirah, Khyber district, ISPR said. The confrontation involved security forces and armed terrorists.
Pakistan’s security personnel demonstrated remarkable efficiency in engaging the terrorists’ location, neutralizing one terrorist. The killed terrorist had been actively engaged in numerous acts of terrorism against security forces and the targeting of innocent civilians, ISPR said.
Tragically, during the intense exchange of gunfire, Havildar Muntazir Shah, aged 36 years and a resident of Swabi district, having fought gallantry, embraced martyrdom, ISPR added.
The area is currently undergoing sanitization operations to eliminate any remaining terrorists who may be present in the vicinity.
The sacrifice of Havildar Muntazir Shah serves as a poignant reminder of the unwavering commitment and bravery exhibited by Pakistan’s security forces in the face of relentless terrorism, as they continue their mission to ensure the safety and security of the nation.
