South Korea Donates Five Scanners to Pakistan to Further EPS Project

ISLAMABAD: The South Korean embassy in Pakistan on Monday donated five scanners to the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) to support the swift administrative processing of the Employment Permit System (E9) project between the two countries.

The scanners were handed over to OEC at a ceremony in the presence of Korean Ambassador Suh Sangpyo, at the corporation’s office in Islamabad.

The scanners can be used in various ways, including passport scanning. Both sides also exchanged ideas on the Employment Permit System project.

Korean envoy vows to cooperate further to expand EPS

The Korean envoy appreciated that Pakistani workers were founding employment opportunities in Korea under the EPS and promised to cooperate to further expand the project.

The EPS project is being pursued under the MOU between the Republic of Korea and Pakistan.

In 2022, about 2,000 Pakistani workers found employment in Korea through the Employment Permit System.
