South Korea Seeks Enhanced Ties with Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The South Korean Ambassador to Pakistan, Suh Sangpyo, has emphasized the historical ties between the two nations and praised Pakistan’s rapid growth and abundant natural resources.

In an exclusive interview with WE News, Ambassador Suh Sangpyo highlighted Pakistan’s geopolitical significance, situated between the Middle East and Asia, with the ancient Silk Road passing through its territory. He further praised Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, including the Mohenjo Daro civilization, the Gandhara Buddhist arts, and Islamic traditions, tracing back to the beginnings of the Indus Civilization.

While acknowledging the substantial growth in trade, investment, human exchange, and development cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic relations between South Korea and Pakistan in 1983, the ambassador stressed that the current level of bilateral ties does not fully reflect the immense potential of Pakistan. He called for upgrading and expanding the existing cooperation.

Collaboration between Pakistan and South Korea

Ambassador Suh Sangpyo emphasized the importance of further collaboration across multiple fields, with a particular focus on exploring new avenues for investment and trade. Notably, he expressed a strong willingness to facilitate bilateral trade, particularly in the technology sector, which holds significant potential.

The South Korean Embassy expressed its commitment to supporting all individuals interested in enhancing relations between South Korea and Pakistan, promising to spare no effort in strengthening the ties between the two nations.
