CAIRO: Speaker of the Arab Parliament Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi has expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its support of the Arab Parliament, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.
He hailed the proposal of Saudi Shura Council Speaker Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh inviting him to attend the official opening sessions of the upcoming meetings of the heads of the GCC legislative councils.
The speaker of the Arab Parliament also expressed his gratitude to the speakers of the Shura, Representatives, National and Ummah Councils in the GCC countries for adopting the Kingdom’s proposal and their keenness to enhancing the role of Arab parliamentary diplomacy and elevating parliamentary work to the highest of standards.
He participated as a guest of honor at the 18th periodic meeting of the speakers of the GCC Shura, Representatives, National and Ummah Councils, which was recently conducted in the United Arab Emirates.
