The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced a special Central Superior Services (CSS) examination to compensate for the low turnout in the 2022 examination.

The special CCS examination will be held on May 4, 2023, which will be the fourth attempt by the candidates, who have exhausted the chance in three attemps.

The FPSC has taken the decision after a low passing ratio of candidates in the CSS examination. The CSS examination will be held to fill the unfilled and vacant seats.

The FPSC will start accepting candidates’ applications online for the Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) based Preliminary Test (MPT), which will be held from December 10 to December 26, 2022 prior to the start of the special CSS exams. The official result for MPT will be announced on February 15.

Subsequently, the FPSC will start registration for the CSS exams from February 19 to March 5, 2023. Candidates have been asked to send hard copies of their online application and educational documents to the FPSC head office in Islamabad by March 15.

According to the official notice of the FPSC, the special CSS exam’s written part will be conducted on May 4, 2023. Candidates from specific regions or quotas were eligible for the special CSS examination, i.e., minorities from Punjab, women and minorities from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, minorities from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, all candidates from rural and urban Sindh, candidates from Balochistan and candidates from ex-Fata.

The age limit for the special CSS examination will be 32. Prospective candidates have been asked to visit the FPSC’s website for more information.
