KARACHI: On the second last day of “World Culture Festival Karachi,” organized by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, a special and rich tribute was paid to Pakistani music. The event celebrated the country’s rich musical heritage, drawing a diverse audience.
Muhammad Ahmed Shah, President of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, said, “It is an honor for us to pay tribute to Pakistani music.” He highlighted the participation of people of all ages, including 94-year-old Sarwar Sahib, Sufia Begum, and their son, who attended the festival throughout.
He noted that today featured performances from well-known artists and mentioned that a session dedicated to Ustad Altaf Hussain Tafo will take place at the upcoming Aalmi Urdu Conference on December 5, where prominent figures from various countries will discuss Urdu literature.

Tafo, a celebrated Pakistani musician and master tabla player, is remembered fondly in the community. Additionally, he has announced that the Arts Council will launch an “Awami Theatre Festival” on November 8, showcasing performances by renowned stage artists.
The evening included performances from acclaimed artists such as Humaira Channa, Ustad Mehmood Ali Khan, Ustad Imran Abbas Khan, Akhlaq Bashir, Sawera Ali, Imran Javed, Uroosa Ali, Kamran Saggu, Noman Khan, Hanif Ikhlaq, Kamran Jafri, and Leeza Fatima.
These performers presented a blend of classic songs from the Pakistani film industry and various classical music styles. The enthusiastic audience, passionate about music, applauded fervently to encourage the artists.
The festival continued to celebrate Pakistan’s rich cultural tapestry, uniting generations through the universal language of music.
