MADINAH: The Haramain High-Speed Railway provides pilgrims and travelers a safe and speedy way to navigate between holy sites during Hajj season, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.
The SPA recently witnessed the smooth operations at the Madinah station, and the accurate departures and arrivals of trains carrying hundreds of pilgrims, Umrah performers, and residents. The 13 rail cars provide sufficient seating and one car is dedicated to food and beverages.
Yahya Al-Sharqawi, from Egypt, expressed satisfaction with the safety and luxury of the journey, highlighting the convenience of commuting directly from Jeddah Airport to Madinah. He praised the commitment of Saudi Arabia to facilitating the movement of pilgrims.
Anwar Badr, another Egyptian visitor, was extremely happy with the many transportation options available, and the ease with which the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque can be reached.
Ali Rajabi from Iran praised the convenience and comfort offered by the Haramain High-Speed Railway. He said the project serves pilgrims greatly from all corners of the world.
The Madinah station offers a variety of amenities. Parking is available below the station, and self-service kiosks are also available for reservations and ticketing. Multiple departure and arrival halls guarantee a smooth flow of passengers with halls dedicated to serving pilgrims during Hajj.
A permanent health center at the station provides on-site medical care.
The Haramain High-Speed Railway plays a vital role in the Hajj season’s transportation system. It offers more than 1.6 million seats to serve pilgrims and visitors in Madinah.
