Sport Climbing Competition Marks World Tourism Day in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: To celebrate World Tourism Day, the Adventure Club of Pakistan (ACP) collaborated with the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) to organize the 13th Sport Climbing Competitions at Ibex Club, located within Lake View Park, on Wednesday.

The ACP is dedicated to promoting healthy outdoor adventure activities within the country, according to a press release.

This event was made possible with the continuous support of Ibex Sports & Leisure Club, located at Lake View Park in Islamabad. Frash Security Services and Northern Mountaineering Equipment generously provided climbing equipment for the top performers.

Winners Receive Shields at World Tourism Day Climbing Contest

Following the exhilarating competitions on World Tourism Day, the winners received shields and certificates of participation. Participants from various educational institutions, adventure clubs, and individuals took part in different age categories.

It’s worth mentioning that the ACP, established in 1994, boasts a rich history of diverse activities, with a special focus on Wall & Rock Climbing.

In past years, the Club has successfully organized 17 climbing competitions on International Women’s Day, 12 climbing competitions on International Mountain Day, and 12 climbing competitions on World Tourism Day.

On September 27, 2023, the Club marked the conclusion of the 13th season of this event, in collaboration with PTDC, aligning with the theme designated by the United Nations.
