RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry for Education announced on Saturday the completion of preparing over 200 sports halls in public girls’ schools in the country. According to the Ministry, its goal is to set up 740 halls for women to enable them to take part in sports.
The efforts are being taken as per “Enhancing sport participation for girls’ students in schools” initiative to provide a healthy way of life for women. The step also aims to further strengthen linking education, at school levels, with advanced plans, in a way that supports the Kingdom’s efforts in empowering women.

The Ministry of Education seeks to continue executing the step within three axes. This initiative contributes to obtaining the targets of the Quality-of-Life Program, which is among the priorities of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. The Ministry has already begun to include physical education within the curricula of girls’ education to contribute to enhancing the general concept of physical activity and sports among girls’ students.
