Sri Lanka Scores 355 Runs in First Innings Against New Zealand

CHRISTCHURCH: Sri Lanka was all out for 355 in the first innings against the New Zealand cricket team on Friday after their last four wickets added 50 runs on day 2 of the first Test match.

In the Test which Sri Lanka needs to win to keep their World Test Championship hopes alive, the tail-order frustrated the New Zealand team attack for more than 17 overs, including 12 with the fresh ball in Christchurch.

When the fresh ball became due, Matt Henry had Rajitha caught at mid-off for 22, and the New Zealand team sensed the end was near.

Lahiru Kumara and Prabath Jayasuriya lasted 38 deliveries for the ninth wicket while only adding five runs. For the New Zealand team, Southee finished with five for 64, and Henry took four for 80.
