LAHORE: Rifat Bukhari, a senior officer of the Punjab Police, has become a role model for women in Pakistan as she has been selected for the Excellence in Performance Award by International Association of Women Police.
According to a press statement, currently serving in the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, Rifat Bukhari’s selection for this prestigious award highlights her exceptional service to her community. This annual award is bestowed upon a female police officer from around the world in recognition of her outstanding contributions to her field.
Rifat Bukhari was recognized for her remarkable services in various areas, including women’s protection, the use of artificial intelligence in apprehending criminals, the development of intelligent traffic management systems, and the implementation of road safety measures.
Debra Friedel, President of the International Association of Women Police, sent a special letter to SSP Rifat Bukhari, extending her congratulations and tributes for being selected for this global honor. “Your selection is a recognition of your service on a global scale,” wrote Debra Friedel.
The exemplary achievement of SSP Rifat Bukhari is a source of pride for all police officers, particularly women officers, stated IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar.
The award will be presented to Rifat Bukhari at the 61st Annual Conference of the International Association of Women Police in Chicago, USA, scheduled for September this year.
