NEW YORK: A horrifying stabbing incident in the Far Rockaway neighborhood of Queens, New York, has resulted in the deaths of four people, including an 11-year-old girl, after a male suspect unleashed a knife attack. Two police officers were also injured in the confrontation.
Police were called to the scene early Sunday morning after receiving a 911 call reporting an ongoing assault by a young girl. Upon arrival, officers encountered a man rolling luggage down a driveway and engaged him in conversation. The situation escalated when the suspect pulled out a knife and attacked the officers, slashing one in the neck and the other in the head.
In self-defense, one of the officers managed to fire at least one shot, striking the suspect. All three persons, including the suspect, were transported to Jamaica Hospital, where the knife-wielding assailant was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Tragic Stabbing Incident in New York
Further investigation revealed a tragic scene inside the residence, with an 11-year-old girl found outside the house, succumbing to her injuries. A fire set inside the living area hindered immediate access to the victims. Once extinguished by the New York Fire Department, responders discovered four additional victims inside, including a 12-year-old boy, a 44-year-old female, and a male in his 30s.
A 61-year-old female with multiple stab wounds was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
