ISLAMABAD: A stollen is a classic German bread featuring fruit and nuts, dusted with powdered sugar. This easy German stollen bread recipe is simple enough to make at home.

Ingredients:

500 g flour

200 ml lukewarm water

10 g yeast

100 g raisins, cranberries, and chopped citrus peel, plus nuts

30 ml rum

50 g sugar

10 g salt

5 g ground cinnamon

2 eggs

50 g butter

150 g marzipan

150 g melted and cooled butter

Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions:

Soak the dried fruit in rum and ground cinnamon for at least a month.

In a bowl, cream together the sugar and butter. Add the eggs and mix well.

Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water, then combine it with flour and salt to form a dough.

Incorporate the rum-soaked fruits and nuts into the dough, along with the sugar-butter mixture.

Place the dough aside for fifteen minutes.

Divide the dough into small portions, fill with marzipan, and wrap it up.

Let the rolled dough sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.

Bake in an oven preheated to 170 degrees Celsius for about twenty minutes.

Remove the bread from oven and allow it to cool.

Brush with melted butter and dust with grinded sugar.
