Street Criminals Involved in over 250 Robberies Held

KARACHI: In a collaborative intelligence-based operation conducted by the Pakistan Rangers Sindh and the Police in the areas of Old Golimar and Liaquatabad, four individuals suspected of being involved in a series of criminal activities were apprehended.

The operation resulted in the recovery of a 9mm pistol along with ammunition, as well as four stolen motorcycles and five snatched mobile phones, as reported by a spokesperson for the Rangers on Monday.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Kamran Shahrukh, Suhail Khan, Huzaifa, and Muhammad Rameez, who is also known as Raja. During interrogations, the suspects confessed to their involvement in more than 250 robberies that had occurred in various areas of the metropolis.

Furthermore, the individuals disclosed their methods of operation, which included dismantling stolen motorcycles and selling their parts, as well as altering the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers of stolen mobile phones before selling them in different markets. They also admitted to committing armed robberies, targeting individuals selling items online, and robbing them of their motorcycles, mobile phones, and cash.

Efforts are currently underway to apprehend any additional accomplices associated with these individuals. The arrested suspects, along with the seized weapons, ammunition, and stolen items, have been handed over to the police for further legal proceedings. This operation reflects the authorities’ commitment to curbing criminal activities and ensuring the safety and security of the community in Karachi.
