ISLAMABAD: Swiss Ambassador to Pakistan George Steiner emphasized that enhancing bilateral trade relations and economic cooperation is his top priority.
Speaking at the launch ceremony for Swiss homoeopathic medicines in Pakistan, he stated that these efforts would ultimately benefit the people of both nations.
Ambassador Steiner highlighted the significant opportunities for collaboration in various sectors, including tourism, medicine, and agriculture. He praised the successful partnerships between Pakistani and Swiss companies and expressed hope for increased collaboration and investment from Switzerland, taking advantage of Pakistan’s 25 million population and diverse industries.
Notably, he pointed out that Switzerland is the third-largest direct investor in Pakistan, with strong trade ties, and encouraged further expansion of bilateral trade and investment.

Ahsan Bakhtawari, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, welcomed Swiss investment, describing Pakistan as an attractive destination for global investors.
He urged Swiss companies to explore the country’s potential and consider establishing manufacturing plants to promote local industry and create jobs.
