KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Central President of Ladies Wing Faryal Talpur has offered her tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistani Armed Forces on the occasion of Defence Day.
In her message, Faryal Talpur emphasized that the sacrifices made by the officers and soldiers of the Pakistani armed forces in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty would forever remain etched in the nation’s memory.
She highlighted that the Pakistan People’s Party and its leadership have consistently demonstrated their deep patriotism and clear political vision when it comes to matters of national defence.
Faryal Talpur Recalls PPP’s Contributions to National Defence
She recalled the significant contributions of PPP’s founder, the late Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who initiated Pakistan’s nuclear program, and his daughter, the late Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, who bolstered Pakistan’s national defence through advancements in missile technology. These contributions, she noted, have made Pakistan’s defence capabilities formidable.
Addressing her brother, Asif Ali Zardari, she highlighted that during his presidency, he had increased the salaries of Armed Forces soldiers by a substantial 175 percent.
Faryal Talpur also emphasized that under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PPP is committed to propelling Pakistan towards becoming an economic powerhouse, with a focus on inclusive development for the entire nation.
She stressed that a robust democracy serves as a cornerstone for a stable economy and a strong defence. On this day, she called upon the nation to pledge their unwavering commitment to confront the challenges facing the country with the same determination and spirit exhibited by the martyrs and heroes of September 6.
