TASHKENT, Uzbekistan: Uzbekistan’s voter turnout in elections for the Legislative Chamber of the Supreme Assembly and local councils reached 62.7%, with 12.5 million citizens out of 19.9 million registered voters casting ballots.
The Central Election Commission’s Chairman, Bahrom Kuchkarov, shared these figures, highlighting the highest participation rates in Fergana (69.22%), Namangan (68.08%), and Jizzak (66.83%).
The elections, held under the theme “My choice is a prosperous Motherland,” reflect Uzbekistan’s growing socio-political engagement. Five political parties are in contention, with results anticipated on October 28.
Voter engagement is under close supervision by over 65,000 local observers and more than 850 international representatives, including members from the CIS, SCO, the Organization of Turkic States, and OSCE/ODIHR, ensuring a transparent and accountable electoral process.
