ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has celebrated the sixth anniversary of the launch of two major satellites: the Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS-1) and the Pakistan Technology Evaluation Satellite (PakTES-1A).

These satellites launched on July 9, 2018, from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in China, represent major achievements of Pakistan in the space sector.

PRSS-1 has provided vital data for environmental monitoring, disaster response and resource management.

Meanwhile, PakTES-1A, developed and designed indigenously, has shown Pakistan’s growing expertise in satellite technology.

Chairman SUPARCO, speaking on the occasion, highlighted the milestones achieved through these satellites and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to advancing its space programme.

“The data and insights gained from PRSS-1 and PakTES-1A have significantly contributed to national development and scientific research”, he said.

The chairman expressed gratitude to all partners, scientists, and engineers who have made these missions successful, setting a solid foundation for future advancements in Pakistan’s space endeavours.
