ISLAMABAD: As his term nears its end, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended a warm gesture of goodwill by sending a delightful gift of renowned Pakistani mangoes to Bangladesh’s President, Prime Minister, and other esteemed dignitaries.

This longstanding annual tradition serves as a symbol of diplomatic camaraderie and the deepening bonds between the neighboring countries.

Mango Diplomatic Tradition

Fasiullah Khan, the Press Counsellor at the Pakistani embassy in Bangladesh, tweeted that the Pakistani leadership sends mangoes as a goodwill gesture to fraternal states every year. He emphasized the Prime Minister’s commitment to nurturing strong bilateral relations and expressed that the gift of Pakistani mangoes conveys messages of goodwill to the leadership and dignitaries of Bangladesh.

The Premier’s gesture comes in the final week of his tenure, coinciding with the anticipated dissolution of Parliament on Wednesday. This strategic dissolution, preceding the end of the National Assembly’s term, sets the stage for an interim government to oversee the forthcoming general elections within the constitutionally mandated timeframe of 90 days.

The internationally acclaimed Pakistani mangoes, renowned for their sweet taste, enticing aroma, and exceptional quality, have various sought-after local varieties such as Sindhri, Chaunsa, Langra, Sonaro, and Saroli.

With this gesture, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underlines the enduring spirit of goodwill and cooperation that characterizes Pakistan’s diplomatic interactions on the international stage.
