JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia: Sheikh Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Kuwait Diplomatic Institute held a symposium on the International Islamic Court of Justice, in collaboration with Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the OIC.
The symposium discussed the idea of the Court’s establishment, first proposed during Islamic Summit Conferences in 1981 and 1987. It emphasized the Court’s role in enhancing legal and judicial cooperation among OIC states.
The symposium also highlighted that 38 ratifications are required for the Court to become operational, though only 14 countries have ratified the statute so far.
