CAIRO:  Flights operation at Syria’s Aleppo International Airport have been resumed, Western media reported on Wednesday.

According to reports the development comes following the closure of the airport due to Israeli air strike.

Western media quoted Syria’s transport ministry as saying that flight operations restarted at the airport at midnight (2200 GMT).

Earlier on Monday an Israeli air strike had put the airport out of service. The Syrian defense ministry said some military facilities were targeted in the attack.

Israel has increased strikes on Syrian airports and air bases in recent days to disrupt aerial supply lines.
