LAUDERHILL: The T20 World Cup 2024 match between India and Canada was called off due to a wet outfield at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida on Saturday.
The morning rain in Lauderhill caused many wet patches on the outfield and after two inspections, the umpires decided to cancel the match without a ball bowled.
The weather in Florida has not been good for the past few days and frequent rain spells have also washed out the lash between the United States (USA) and Ireland on Friday which knocked out Pakistan from the T20 World Cup and the home side made through the Super 8 of the tournament.
It is pertinent to mention that India have already qualified for the Super 8 round and are placed in Group A alongside Australia, Afghanistan.
India has already won all of their group matches in the T20 World Cup. They beat Ireland, Pakistan and the USA in New York but couldn’t finish their group-stage game in Florida. The Indian team will now fly to West Indies where they will play their Super 8 games.
