VIENNA: Taylor Swift, who was forced to cancel her highly anticipated Eras Tour concerts in Vienna, has charmed her disappointed fans with a special gesture. The 34-year-old singer, in collaboration with Disney+, is offering a free screening of her film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) to her international audience.

The film, which captures Swift’s acclaimed Eras Tour performances, is being broadcast for free in Austria through a partnership between Disney+ and local cable station ORF. The special screening began on August 10, providing fans with a chance to experience the tour’s highlights despite the cancellation of the live shows.

In addition to the free screening, Disney+ is offering a limited-time free trial of its premium service, allowing Swift’s fans, known as “Swifties,” to enjoy her era film at no cost during this promotional period.

The move comes as a consolation for fans after three of Swift’s concerts scheduled at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna were cancelled. The performances, which were slated for August 8, 9, and 10, had to be called off following reports of a terrorist threat.

The concert organizers had anticipated up to 65,000 attendees per show inside the stadium and an additional 30,000 people outside, where authorities had indicated potential threats.

The cancellation was a significant disappointment for fans who had eagerly awaited Swift’s arrival in Vienna. However, the free screening and the Disney+ trial provide a meaningful way for her to connect with her audience despite the unforeseen circumstances.

Swift’s gesture has been widely appreciated by fans and has been seen as a thoughtful response to the disruption.
