WASHINGTON: Taylor Swift has contributed $5 million to Feeding America to aid relief efforts following Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The nonprofit announced her donation on Wednesday, featuring a “Thank You” graphic styled like a friendship bracelet—a popular accessory among Swift’s fans at her concerts.
Feeding America expressed its deep gratitude for the donation, with CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot stating, “This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover by providing essential food, clean water, and supplies to those affected by these devastating storms. Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they face the challenges ahead.” The organization also urged fans and supporters to “join Taylor” in their relief efforts.
Swift’s close friends, actors Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, have also donated $1 million to Feeding America for hurricane relief. Babineaux-Fontenot noted that the couple’s “longtime support of Feeding America during times of crisis” has been instrumental in meeting the basic needs of communities during past disasters.
Swift has a history of donating to nonprofits following natural disasters and tragic events, including a tornado that struck Tennessee in 2020 and a shooting during the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory parade in February 2024. Her philanthropic efforts with food banks became a notable aspect of her record-breaking Eras Tour, during which she donated the equivalent of hundreds of thousands of meals to various food banks in cities where she performed.
Hurricane Milton made landfall in Florida as a Category 3 storm on Wednesday, saying to the suffering of a coast still recovering from Hurricane Helene.
