PESHAWAR: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ashfaq Noor on Thursday took immediate action in response to the murders of a Senior Planning Officer from the Social Welfare Department and a police officer in the provincial capital.
CCPO Noor visited the crime scene on Ishrat Cinema Road in the Daudzai area, where a police officer was fatally shot, and expressed condolences for the tragic incident.
To expedite justice, special investigation teams have been set up under the supervision of Divisional SPs to identify and apprehend the culprits behind both incidents, as announced by the CCPO. He said that culprits responsible for these acts would swiftly be brought to justice.
Simultaneously, Secretary of Social Welfare Aneela Mehfuz Durrani strongly condemned the killing of the Senior Planning Officer and conveyed her deep grief and sympathy to the grieving family.
In a letter to the Social Welfare Department, she termed the incident as tragic and confirmed that all necessary measures are being taken to track the perpetrators. —APP
