Ten Killed in Iraq Roadside Blast Attack

BAGHDAD: As many as ten people were killed in an attack with roadside bombs and shooting on a car and rescuers in Iraq’s eastern Diyala province on Thursday evening, sources said. Reuters reported that 14 others people injured the roadside blast and attack.

The sources maintained the attack near the town of Amraniyah apparently targeted relatives of a local legislator and started with the detonation of 2 roadside bombs that completely destroyed a car in which several individuals were travelling.

Locals who arrived on the spot to help were then attacked with gunman fire; the sources added. However, the sources did not elaborate more information on possible motives for the assault.

Security personnel announced the imposition of a curfew in the area after the bomb attack. As per media reports, the search was taking place in the area in order to arrest those responsible for the attack on Thursday night.
