Terrorist Commander Badshah Khan Mehsud Killed in Landmine Blast in Afghanistan

KABUL: A notorious terrorist commander known as Badshah Khan Mehsud was killed in a landmine explosion in Afghanistan’s Paktika province here on Tuesday, local media reported.

According to media reports, Badshah Khan Mehsud, a most-wanted terrorist, had been actively involved in attacks against Pakistani security forces and various other terrorist activities. His elimination has caused a significant blow to regional terror networks.

Badshah Khan Mehsud was widely regarded as a trusted associate of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Noor Wali Mehsud, and his actions were closely tied to the TTP’s activities. He had earned a bad name for his involvement in orchestrating attacks against Pakistani security personnel.

Badshah Khan Mehsud Targeted in Paktika Province

The tragic incident unfolded in Azbargai village, situated within Paktika Province, Afghanistan, media reports added. Media reported that Mehsud, accompanied by another individual, was traveling when their vehicle struck a concealed landmine, resulting in fatal injuries.

Additionally, Badshah Khan Mehsud had strong ties to former TTP deputy chief Khan Said, also known as Commander Sajna. Notably, Commander Sajna had been targeted and killed in a United States drone strike back in February 2018.
